Team Upper lose out on semi-final spot

The verdict is in, Team Upper lost their third match against Waterhouse Blazers (WB) and subsequently, lost their bid to secure a spot in the semi-final round of the Southern Conference Basketball League.

The team was out-played by the more experienced WB who remained composed and consistent in their game plan. Team Upper fought valiantly in the first half keeping the score line to a narrow margin, though trailing behind. By the third quarter, with a determination to re-capture lost ground, Team Upper retrieved more rebounds and pushed the ball to the basket, but those efforts just did not convert to goals.

In the end, WB, with their expertise in 3-pointers, on their home turf and prodded on by exuberant supporters, was able to secure their victory with a final score of 76 to 51.

We take this opportunity to congratulate the entire Upper Room team, coaching staff and management team for their unwavering commitment to this year’s season and for bringing the team to the quarter-final round. We also thank our various sponsors for decking the team in gears and with basketballs. Thanks also to the chefs who provided meals on occasions during training sessions and of course the cheering fans.

We shall return!
